Ramblings & Real Talk

I spend a lot of time with kids. Like 99.99999% give or take. So many of my conversations go something like:

“What’s in your mouth?”

**blank stares & little feet running in the opposite direction**

“…oh. Ok… come back soon!”

“Crayons aren’t food. Here, have a carrot instead!”

“Hmm, I don’t know actually. I mean, it says it’s non-toxic; would you like some water to wash down your crayons? Sides perhaps?” 😉

“Look at the beautiful sunset outside!”

“No, Mommy. That’s a moonset! Not su-su-su…yeah, it’s a moonset.”

I love it; I do. But sometimes, I want to talk in my normal voice and use the occasional SAT word. Didn’t take all them English classes for nothin’; amiright?

So here I am conversing with myself about life, praying when I remember, and often preaching to myself because I need grace every day, and repentance is hard.

Maybe we can encourage each other too— in this real-life game of Life.
